Hi there,
I am new to this list and am not sure this is an appropriate subject, I
apoilogies if it is not. It is a question regarding identifying patterns in
experimental data.
I am planning a PhD thesis regarding physiotherapy assessment of low back
pain. Basically the plan is to measure how far low back pain sufferers can
move in different planes and to look for patterns in there movement
limitation. The data will be a number representing the amount moved by the
lumbar spine in a given direction. There will be 8 different movements each
one of which is independent of the others.
The hypothesis is that there will be groups of patients with similar
movement disfunctions and this will correlate to the diagnosis.
The problem is identifying the patterns, I was wondering if there are any
programs, techniques or methods within statistics to do/assist with this.
Any help would be gratefully recieved,
John Willenbruch
