The Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a new interdisciplinary research centre at Imperial College which runs a number of programmes. Mathematical Institute Fellowships
Applications are invited for Mathematical Institute Fellowships at the Institute for Mathematical Sciences, to work in one of its initial core research areas: Geometry and String Theory; Biostatistics; Mathematics in Banking and Finance; Quantum Information Theory; Multiscale Dynamics of Biosystems; Mathematics in Biology and Medicine; and Multiphase Flow and Turbulence.
The Mathematical Institute Fellowships are tenable for up to three years, commencing July 2005 or as soon as possible thereafter. There is a possibility that some five-year appointments may be made, with a guaranteed permanent lectureship at the end of the appointment.
Candidates for the Mathematical Institute Fellowships are expected to have a PhD, show substantial research potential, and actively contribute to one or more of the research programmes. Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD in Mathematics or a field of study which includes a significant mathematical component. Candidates who have not carried out research in the areas listed above but wish to diversify are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary will be in the range £22,116 to £32,232 per annum, depending on experience.
