Greetings,
I am an econometrician that recently switched computing platforms to
Mac OS X. Unfortunately one consequence of this is that there seem to
be fewer choices of statistical software available. Two features that
are particularly important to me are survival analysis and a fairly
general Maximum Likelihood estimation capability. I presently use
Mathematica for much of my work, but that requires me to write many
estimators from scratch. At times I would prefer to simply use an
existing package. I am hoping members of AllStat might be able to share
their software recommendations. Thank you.
Best regards,
Mark
