My Thames Valley based client requires a Statistician educated to at least
MSc-level (PhD preferred) to maintain and develop statistical models used
for the performance testing of new chemicals.
You will be working closely with R&D Chemists to help them formulate
products and reduce the need for physical and chemical testing of
unsuccessful leads. The work will involve developing and interpreting
statistical models which relate chemistry to performance. To succeed, you
should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills along with a
desire to apply your statistics knowledge to real problems.
Any background or training in chemistry (eg. A-level or equivalent, or
subsidary university courses) would be advantageous.
You should have a proven ability to program, preferably in VBA and be
skilled in statistical modelling.
This is a 2 year fixed term contract, starting ASAP, with a negotiable
salary. The maximum salary for this role is likely to be approximately
£30,000.
