The Role
The principal statisticians play a key, demanding and visible role in
delivering the statistics service to the New Product and Global Supply
Division of Global Manufacturing and Supply across many sites and along
supply chains. There are new opportunities due to the expansion of the
service. In these roles you will use your theoretical knowledge and
practical experience in industry or academia to identify opportunities and
develop solutions to help achieve our business goals. You will specify and
lead projects to introduce statistical technologies across the division,
across supply chains, on sites or for central functions for process
development, new product introduction and quality control including
SixSigma projects, and in applying statistics to assure compliance. You
will coach, train and supervise other statisticians and also
non-statisticians involved in development projects. This is a role that
you will be able to develop to meet changes in the business.

Your Profile
· BSc or equivalent in statistics, mathematics or other subject with
strong statistics element, preferably supported by MSc or PhD and/or
CStat.
· Approx 8 years experience in applying statistics, leading
statistical projects or of leading a statistics service to a business
preferably in a quality compliance or manufacturing environment.
· Advantageous are experience in research into statistical methods,
statistical systems development/validation and/or training in statistics
especially for non-statisticians.
· A good communicator used to working with and influencing senior
managers.
