Senior Medical Statistician

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Medical Statistician in the
Department of Medical Statistics based at Wythenshawe Hospital. This NHS
Teaching Trust has a strong research profile and the members of the Department
play a major role by collaborating with researchers on externally-funded studies,
providing a statistical advisory service and an ongoing education programme to
all clinicians, scientists, nurses and allied health professionals.
The post-holder will assist in the provision of a statistical advisory service to
Trust researchers, including an open-access statistics clinic, collaborate with
researchers in a wide variety of medical studies and will be involved in the data
management and statistical analysis of data from major projects. The appointee
will also be expected to contribute to the statistics education programme within
the Trust.
The successful applicant will have a postgraduate qualification in medical statistics
and at least 3 years’ experience working as a statistician. Salary will be on the
Clinical Scientist Grade B scale (in the range £24,906 to £28,016 per annum),
subject to matching and/or evaluation under Agenda for Change.
Exceptional applicants with a postgraduate qualification and fewer than 3 years’
experience but showing appropriate potential may be considered for the post at a
lower salary.
