*****Microsoft Excel for Statistics? What you can and cannot do*****
23-24 February
This course gives practical experience in the use of Excel for data summary and presentation, and for other basic statistical work. It concentrates primarily on the areas where Excel really can excel. This includes organising data, i.e. basic data management, tabulation using Excel's pivot tables, and graphs. We also review Excel's facilities for statistical analysis and how add-ins or other statistical software can be used together with Excel.
*****Taking Microsoft Excel Further: Macros for Data Management and Statistics*****
25 February
The ease with which Excel can be extended is a welcome and useful surprise for those who wish or need to use Excel for statistical work. This one-day course introduces participants to ways of extending Excel using macros and other features of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Examples include simple programs to reorganise data and to perform statistical calculations.
