GSK based at the Harlow site, Essex.

Minimum Requirements:
You should have an MSc or a PhD in statistics, statistical genetics or
genetic epidemiology together with around 2 years experience in analysis
of genetic data. You will have knowledge of at least one statistical
package such as SAS, Splus, R and a working knowledge of UNIX.
Together with your demonstrated ability to handle multidisciplinary
projects, you should have demonstrated ability to work successfully as
part of a team with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You
will also need to be flexible in dealing with changing project priorities.

You will be involved with the application of genetic analysis methods to
case-control, cohort and pedigree data, for the identification of genes
influencing susceptibility to disease.
You will also have responsibilty for:
- Application of genetic analysis methods to clinical trials data, for the
identification of genes influencing drug response
- Provision of statistical genetics expertise for planning/designing
studies, for data analysis and for interpretation of results
- Consultation with colleagues within the division and outside the
division on matters relating to statistical genetics
- Communication of genetic results within the division and to
cross-functional project teams
