Research Associate/Fellow
Applications are invited for the above post, funded by the MRC, to undertake
mathematical analysis of single ligand-receptor interactions. The research
project, under the supervision of Professor S J Hill and Professor F G Ball,
concerns the development and implementation of compound Poisson based models
for analysing photon counting histograms arising from single ligand-receptor
interactions.
Candidates should have, or expect to obtain shortly, a PhD in statistics.
Experience of statistical model development and fitting, and strong computing
skills are essential, as is enthusiasm for engaging with the biophysical
aspects of the project.
Salary will be within the range 19,460 - 21,640 pounds per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience. This post will be offered on a fixed-term
contract for a period of one year.
