The Department of Social Medicine at the University of Bristol is a leading
centre for epidemiology, health services research and public health in the
UK and was awarded the top 5* grade in the 2001 Research Assessment
Exercise. In total there are some 120 staff including about 20 medical
statisticians. The Department has its own library and excellent computer
facilities.
The main purpose of this post is to develop skills in the application of
medical statistics, based mainly on the analysis of two important research
projects. You will assist with data collection, statistical analysis of
data and dissemination of findings. You will be encouraged to develop
research and teaching skills and may have the opportunity to register for a
higher degree. You will also be encouraged to develop your own research
interests, in collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Social
Medicine and to contribute to relevant undergraduate and postgraduate
courses run by the department.
Grade : Grade 1A Salary : £19,460 - £23,634
