The call for the use of Access Statements is beginning to get louder. Many
local authorities like my own are just beginning to look into training. I
have been told that some LA's are far ahead of my own and not only have been
using Access Statements but have them built into the Planning process
through policy.
Are there any Planners or Access Officers or BCO's working in forward
thinking LA's that can contact me & tell me what protocols or processes they
have in place and what status Access Statements hold there, e.g. are they
part of a planning application? Is it just a formality that needs to be
observed in order to make developers look at access? Are they insisted upon
and if so what is the driving force that is making them an interconnect part
of the process etc.
