Hi Dorothy and Vin
The rake of the auditorium seating and accessible entry points also need to
be taken into the equation.
If there is a mid-entry point that is accessible then perhaps they could
have an extendable gang plank that goes out level across to the stage level
;-) Or maybe those steps that change into a platform lift by each step
raising up to a uniform level?
Marcus

Hi Dorothy,
my point was that getting access to a stage from an auditorium is likely to
be a rise of around a metre - which would require approx twenty to forty
metres of ramping plus level resting places - not many halls could
practicably accomodate that

Vin,
Gradient would require to be to BS8300.
