I know several tall people who have this problem with doors. It may be
slightly easier getting higher doors and ceilings than getting something
that involves more floor space. In order for homes to have more space we are
seeing many more three storey houses being build, they take up less floor
space, so are favoured by developers.
I wonder does Daniel Kawczynski recognise the link with inclusive design. If
he could link his particular issue in with the broader issues that could be
useful to many more people.

Subject: Taller door openings?
Hi all
I notice that in the UK a Minister of Parliament (MP) is leading a campaign
to increase the "national height of doors" - not that I was aware there was
a national regulation on maximum height I thought it was determined by
suppliers selling doors in standard units - a he is fed up with having to
stoop through doorways. Daniel Kawczynski MP is 6 foot 8.5 inches (2045mm)
tall. It is a good point as we have been concentrating our efforts on
widening doorways, but have we missed an opportunity to get them heightened
as well? Mind you we should also then be considering the minimum ceiling
height.
Just a thought.
