Good Idea! As it it nearly always men that do this act in the street often in full view of other people, in public doorways, and against public buildings, it means that town centres in the evening end up smelling like an enormous public urinal. More 24hr (open & free) toilets are the answer, as it is the same problem for women especially if you are elderly or pregnant. The other thing is to draft a campaign against drinking so many pints of cheap lager thus negating the need to pee so much.
P.S. I think its going to be difficult to enforce the £50 fine.

Hi all
what do you think of the following solution
Neath council and police today (23 Sept 2005) announced that anyone caught urinating in the street will have to pay a £50 on-the-spot fine.
There is only one public toilet in the town centre which is situated a couple of hundred metres away from the entertainment area and taxi of the town and off the pedestrian route for the majority of revelers. They are also a couple of hundred metres from the railway station. the next nearest toilets are about three kilometers away and not on everyone's route home.
This toilet closes at sundown.
