ERGONOMICS SOCIETY ANNUAL CONFERENCE
CALL FOR PAPERS
'Does your home include you? an International Symposium on the
Usability of Homes by the full spectrum of their users.'
The Society wishes to receive abstracts in the following topics for the
above
symposium Annual Conference 2006.
Inclusive Home Markets:
-The markets, market intelligence and market systems for:
-Homes, contents and for home and housing services
-users and their needs
Products
-the quality of different products and services
-the 'disability premium' on products and services
-markets for inclusive innovations
- Benefits of increasing the market to include all users
-Barriers faced in the marketplace
-Innovations such as the Accessible Housing register
Inclusive Homes
This might include:
-evidence about physical and sensory barriers in home
-evidence about barriers in utilities, fixtures and fittings
-initiatives for overcoming barriers
-inclusive standards and applications eg Lifetime Homes, Building Regs etc
-user inputs and evaluations of homes and innovations
-costing the penalties of barriers in home carcasses
