Places are still available on the following Netskills workshops running at Manchester University at the end of January:
1. Databases on the Web (January 25th)
This is a practical workshop for those who wish to understand how to
publish database-driven content on the web. The workshop gives an
overview of the tools and techniques available and teaches the key
practical skills necessary to use them. Topics covered include
Microsoft Access, Active Server Pages (ASP) and PHP with MySQL.
2. Exploring XML (January 26th)
This practical workshop, aimed at experienced HTML authors,
introduces a wide range of new and exciting possibilities using XML.
Topics include: What is XML? Creating XML documents, Using XSLT &
XPath for data transformations, Server-side XSLT, XML applications
including XHTML, SMIL & RSS.
3. Approaches to Web-based Content Management (January 27th)
Whether providing on-line content, managing a web-site or running a
multi-featured web service, an effective content management strategy
could save you time, effort and money. This workshop introduces some
of the key steps involved in putting together an effective web
content management solution.
