>To what degree is Alison's dream personal or, alternatively, robbed of its

An interesting question, though I would think that my dream had moved out of
the 'personal' or its 'unique experience' if I posted it on a list like this, since
there's going to be a drench of various interpretations, or nudges this way and
that, whether it's your 'movie agents' or my saying 'girl squirrel soccer team'.
And the "unique experience' exists intact even with the 'drench' because of its
uniqueness, the various details relayed later of the dream, which google cannot
google. So I don't know. Perhaps Alison is offended? I'd hope not and am sorry if
so. For really what googles googles is somewhat generic, squirrels in this case,
the color black, whistle, but nothing else.
>With Google I suspect the question is whether or not the local has been

Well, this is interesting too, for I think it depends upon how much information
about any particular space the individual sensibility can absorb and still retain
freshness of sight/site. But is this different than other things? for instance in
translating a poem and having some issue with it, I may go to any number of
sources, online and off, which can put a mountain in that particular phrase, the
two or three words of an idiom for instance. The same thing if writing a poem
and a preoccupation with a particular word leads to an Everest of research. Does
that eliminate 'freshness of sight"? I don't find it does, but it may be an issue of
degree and how much mountain of received information one can look through
and still look at the unknowable phrase or word freshly. I suspect my tolerance
for this may be greater than some's, though perhaps less than others, so
apologies if you felt the loss of your freshness of sight/site! and to Alison too,
best,
Rebecca
