My friend Sara asks:
"I'm trying to remember a haiku that may be quite ancient, about
having to involve oneself in a scene, as with leaving footprints in
the snow. I don't think I have much more info. I'm assuming it is
Japanese and early but I could be wrong.
"Let me paraphrase the sentiment: You are such an (ass) you can't
just enjoy the beautiful peaceful view of the snowfall, you have to go
out and stomp around in it (creating footprints) and screwing up the
view for the rest of us. This is, at least how I remember it."
I think this must *not* be a haiku.
Any ideas?
