Well, yes, threw it down, get something said. I already made changes
last night for myself, clarifications that I don't THINK get in the
way. Then will come the cuts and rearrangements. Maybe. It started
out two days ago as an accident that became an impossible emotional
exercise. I did not consciously remember his birthdate but it was in
there infusing the thing. Yesterday I remembered and hit a "zone" where
it was coldblooded and I was to some extent able to "steer." Today?
Reading it ON what would have been Steve's 57th birthday is far harder
than I expected. So I'm going to walk away--day off from work, go up to
NYC, take a backstage tour and then see An American Tragedy at the Met
Opera. On Sunday, await and feed the same Jake who brought me the
pictures to scan. I love the kid the death but I hope to God he doesn't
bring any more.
His aunt, my ex's sister, really is someone who should not be allowed to
play with a camera. It's like letting John Dillinger play with a gun.

39. Not observing the imperfections of others, preserving silence and a continual communion with God will eradicate great imperfections from the
soul and make it the possessor of great virtues.
