Frank, Very sorry to learn that you suffered a heart attack, but have
confidence in the medications. I share with you blockage in only one
artery at about the same percentage, though at a different location.
My experience with the synergistic effect of a diuretic & a beta-blocker to
lower blood pressure has been very positive. Although I may have
empathized with the line you quote when spoken by one of the male leads in
Barnet's "Bountiful Summer", the repeated measurable impact of the meds
also makes it seem "romantic" that one can will blood pressure to an
acceptable level. Though I do try to get in a walking meditation & a
bathtub meditation before my pressure is tested. Otherwise, I've been
taking an aspirin every morning for more than 10 years. Finally, the
combination of a statin and a fenofibrate have brought all my cholesterol
readings to more than satisfactory levels. Niacin, red wine, and garlic may
have a certain impact as well. Barry
