I'm going to weigh in for princess, which I think brings the score to
2-2. Having a 3-year-old in the house myself and seeing a lot of her
friends I know "princess" is hardly a superfluous word for them. And
taking it out leaves an awkward leap in the poem ("fanstatic hair /
with a wispy / golden crown"?).
