Jon, some people might recall a similar experiment that Robert
Peters did in one of his critical books (_Black & Blue Guide_?
from way back in 1980s).
Peters compared a few of outtakes from rather well-known,
well-published poets at the time, with excepts from the almost
universally reviled (at least among the literati) work of Rod McKuen.
I'm not sure what was proved...but it's an old game.
