Subject: pin man in a room
lot here!
>In the circumstance of poetry, if the pin man cannot see out into the room,
his not seeing out makes us aware of not seeing out of our room
yes, I think so. I can't find the poem. but I am pretty certain that's what
I was intending.
I think it had Kasper Hauser in it too!
>, but also
that the poem cannot see out however it turns? I think of Denise Riley's
"Outside from the start".
I suppose so. Yes. But quite honestly we'll get further just looking at DR's
poetry - I gladly acknowledge the greater maker
>The "just seeing the way" seems similar to what Ron Silliman writes on his
blog about asking the question: What is poetry missing? And that this is how
innovation begins, or how a poet finds / realises that there is - a space
to be cleared for them to get on with their work.
yes, if you can find it
once found then it may seem obvious
in my experience finding a way through (usually land gone from cultivation
to overgrown) usually blinds me to the problem - the way then remains
clearly seen
and it is something like that in my own writing
and i am also thinking of new ways that may not suddenly open up
i have no idea what McClure would think but I have tended to read Ghost
tantras as someone trying to will themselves beyond that invisible wall
>To be vital is to be problematic?
Happy to be both!
Thanks for some really interesting ideas
