Putting a book together forces you to do this, yes, but it's not what I was
talking about. My own book went through more than a few revisions over the
years that I was entering contests, and each time I did the same thing, but
in my experience, this process did not help me understand how to talk about
the book to others whom I needed to convince to at least give it a serious
reading, and that's what going the other route helped me with.
