I tend to agree with your final statement below, but 'meter'? You seem
to want to forget the whole long 20th century. I tend to want rhythm,
yes, but I'll stick with Pound, etc., as to breaking the pentameter
etc. Broke-down prose lacks rhythm, & one can perhaps measure any good
lines of poetry, but not necessarily as to 'meter.'
Actually, in some prose, it's the how, as well.
