Took me awhile to figure out what you meant--the poem about wanting to
have a baby? It's a throwaway. It's really about working in toxic
environments (aren't most of them, at least in the States?), though that
should be obvious. I saw a couple of women walking down the hall, both
visibly pregnant, and I know a woman in Human Resources who is due any
day too. A woman friend tasked me a bit for the poem--I made mistakes
in assuming the any American company will actually pay a woman who goes
out on maternity leave. My bad, my bad. But I guess the bottom line was
that six weeks (all that's allowable) free of a politicized hellhole is
something I can envy, and that women have the built-in means to
accomplish that.
So where are the torches? where the pitchforks?...
