Well, here I am a day behind, but, I read more of your posts, Lawrence,
& I guess I was saying that I do sort of agree with you but can't think
of how to apply your thinking really, or rather, as you do too, I don;t
see anyone in power (or those behind them) doing so. Also I'm just too
given to easily demonizing such as Bush/Blair, taking their names as
signs for the powers that be ( behind them). But that's why I used the
term 'state terror' which agrees with you about what 'we' (the West
etc) have done. Certainly, the people in Iraq, & elsewhere can't but
feel 'terrorized' by the was *against terror.
On the other hand, I also see Dominic's point about young men easily
led to become terrorists in such place where there seems to be no
answer & then someone comes along & says You can do this & God is with
you. Even though I can't *understand it at all...
If I think about these things too much, despair is the only thing I
feel....
As I type this, an announcer on CBC's The Current just said, well, the
war hasn't worked in Afghanistan, it hasn't worked in Iraq, so what if
we declare a Truce on Terror. Then mumbled, Well, it worked in Grade
3....
