well i dont know where this going... does this mean you have real balls
then, Judy? congratulations if so
prizes await you
or does this mean you need real balls to understand the proposition
beginning _if they dont holler_ or does that whole thing mean _you need real
balls_? have i the balls for the questions - just bouncing a few questions
there's a vagueness to the phrase if they dont holler etc which suggests to
me i'm against it
if they dont holler perhaps you're treating them well is where i am coming
from
i find a similar vernacular sargasso sea in Bukowski - no that doesnt work
sound and fury signifying nothing
i await persuasion but i dont think i am up for being grasshopper
so I'll give up
*
and then I read other posts, all very good - i really dont know that the
phrase means, didnt, probably heard it, but it was a mysterious thing that
my beloved cousins say...
Frank's emphasis on respect for where you are, certainly - and all I am
doing is a version of the young bull and old bull stories (i wouldnt have
thought of that had you not explained about balls being involved)
respect, certainly, it's an approach revered by George Galloway of course
but Bukowski... is an approach I remember someone mocking once with
reference to drapery "Certainly, Sir / Madam, we have all his writing - how
many yards of it would you like?
all best
