No coincidences? Poems this morning about Andrew's black cat, Vile
Boris (love that name!) gets his moment...and I started writing mine
yesterday, premonitory perhaps but not a coincidence, since I'm 10 days
away from his three-year anniversary. I think I've written about Miles
before, probably shall again, really not about the cat but about what we
do with grief. Animals have it all over us--pure emotion, take your
claws to the bearer of bad news, then get on with life...even if she
spent 3 days following me around the house to make sure I was there.
She never looked for him; but there were two other cats and a dog who
made themselves frantic trying to find him.
Eventually I want to write about the Miles-sightings in the house in the
years that followed if I can find a way to avoid having visits from
people with butterfly nets.
