Response to the Anne Sexton poem? I didn't post a comment, I ordered the
book. Will that do?
Actually, I'm glad you put it up. Seems to me it's a mystic's poem, the sort
of thing we need reminding that it's possible to write these days.
Mysticism, from what I've read of it, isn't necessarily a lovely gentle
thing but, as the Sexton poem makes clear, an act of courage, of going
beyond the bounds that you know are safe. There's a Levertov poem on the
subject (probably more than one), and if I can lay hands on it I'll post it.
