Joanna,
There are many complexities inherent in every human-being
and to make an assumption or a judgement solely upon any
individual according to that persons belief system will not
give you an accurate understanding of that person.
Unless of course that belief system is one that condones
violence as a legitimate purpose. How anyone can believe
that Islam is supposed to be a peaceful religion is beyond me.
Now I do not want to open up a pandoras box and have everyone
declare "what about the Crusades?" "Were they not violent,
killing in the name of Christianity?"
look, this is not a forum for discussing Religion,I totally agree.
I am simply expressing a point of view that has made people very
uncomfortable and I am prepared to let it go for the sake of
some relative peace.
As

Yes you have made that quite clear Joanna, and I will not
bother you again.

but I will endeavour to find the appropriate forum, heaven
knows where that could be.Poetry amongst other things is an
expression of one's thoughts whether they be shallow or deep.
i would rather think that the expression of one's soul, with all
that is deep and emotional could be expressed in poetic form.
Sentimentality,melancholy,euphoria,any range of emotions
play an integral part in poetry. If I have a passion in my
personal belief,[a belief that people find offensive,]a belief
that offers salvation to the lost,a belief that at its very
core is a belief of Hope.Is this not a reason to be passionate?
I am not sure that 'religious poetry' is warranted here.
This is a wonderful contemporary poetry site and despite
the fact that it endeavours to welcome all types of poetry,
religious poetry is I feel, would only appeal to a minority.
Having said that, I have two wonderful books, that deal specifically
with this topic. The author is a wonderful christian man,
in his eighties now. Geoffrey Bingham.
"All things of the Spirit" and "The Spirit of all Things"
published by New Creation Publications.
Some other topics that I had in mind for a cursory
conversation were:
1. Are there indeed Two Realities?
[a brief philosophical look at life after death]
2. There is no such thing as Sex only Marriage.
>> 3. Body,Soul and Spirit.
[Sin and its consequences]
You think I am joking?
I know,This is not the Forum for this type of discussion.
You hardly know me.
warm regards. D.avid
