Sounds as though she took herself well seriously. Just like me as a girl,
right down to the Latin Septuagint.
But I was a wimp as well, so left out the pistols.

I knew a cliché once, and she was a nice girl.
"Dear christ, Robin," she said, trickling tears into her gin, "why does no
one ever take us seriously?"
"Well," I said (with what all things considered I thought was a large degree
of gentlemanly decorum), "You do have to admit that neither of us is exactly
Shakespeare."
Then she reached under the table and pulled a copy of Jerome's Latin
translation of the Septuagint from her sock and pointed it at me.
"Pistols for two, coffee for one," she said brightly, and pulled the
trigger.
MORAL: Don't ever argue with a cliché on a bad hair day.
