Gentlemen
Thankyou for your replies to a most controversial subject.
and thankyou for expressing your thoughts in a most
diplomatic manner.However,your replies have inadvertently
shifted from my initial response. it was Mr Clark I recall, who
first made the comment[a quote]regarding 63% of
Americans believe that the Holy Bible can be interpreted
literally.
I recall that I replied in the affirmitive, that I also
[with the exception of a couple of books],believe that the
Holy Bible can be interpreted literally.
Therefore,this talk of evolution[pros and cons]needs to
be dealt with appropriately. It should immediately be
allocated to the 'claytons beliefs' section of any
Tertiary campus where it belongs. I do not have time
to listen to foolish theories about our supposed
ancestors swinging from trees.
My time is important to me,so I would rather not
waste it with frivolous arguments about whether
Darwin recanted his life's work on his death-bed
and subsequent professors expounded his 'Origin
of Species' to fit their own personal agenda.
I am more interested in whether the first 11 Chapters
of the book of Genesis should be accepted in a literal
sense as mainstream biblical scholars believe or
whether they are nothing but fantasy and allegorical
stories that the Liberal theologians believe.
the answer to this query will go along way towards
determining whether one is a true believer or not.
kind regards
dR
