So, there's the possibility of putting reviews we've already written
into the list? Or 'reviewing' books we're reading.
I am busy reviewing a bunch of Canadian books right now, most of which,
within the 350 words I'm allowed for the anthology of reviews I'm doing
it for, don't deserve mention, but some do, &, at the moment, i don't
have the time to expand those few (which the books probably do
deserve). Given that they're of books published only in Canada, & hard
to get for many on the list, is there a point? As in: one of those
deserving books, which I also had on my grad course on Canadian
Feminist Experimental Poetry last Fall, is Lola Lemire Tostevin's
site-specific poems, which one of the students used, with her earlier &
also very fine Cartouches, in a terrific essay now in the latest issue
of Open Letter.
I'm speaking here, in response to Stephen's question, perhaps 'for'
others here who are wondering: is this a real invitation to do the
thing?
But I'd also point people to Jacket, for example, where every issue has
fairly long & useful reviews.
The Drunken Boat has a few.
