One of Quebec's young turk directors did an astonishing version of it
with student actors here a few years ago. Using a new theatre on campus
which had amazing technical possibilities, all of which he utilized.
But I love the play too. Had never seen it, & thought the production
was amazing.
It was aware of the young actors limitations, & so played up the storms
& all that, but it worked, & I bet, therefore, that Sh would not mind
at all. If it brings in the audience & they leave excited, I imagine he
would think it did the job.
It would be interesting to find out if Creeley ever did say something
about later reading & getting Shakespeare, but I too don't have my
Collected Prose at hand....
