Depends where in the Americas. In Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Panama and
Venezuala Baseball dominates. It coexists elsewhere. And of course there's
Canada. The issue, to be serious for a moment, is not so much the relative
unpopularity of baseball in countries the US hasn't invaded or occupied as
the relative unpopularity of soccer in the US as a spectator sport, which
I'd bet is largely determined by the paucity of breaks in which to insert ads.
