I've just realised that a book I got as a school prize in about 1958 or '9
(for writing dreadful immature poetry, no less), carries a dedication 'To
the Staff and Pupils of Raynes Park County School'. (So it IS a real place .
. . !) No more details given; but the book in question is 'A New Anthology
of Modern Verse 1920-1940', edited by C.Day Lewis and L.A.G. Strong. I don't
suppose you were by any chance in Raynes Park at that sort of time? would
love to know what connection those two had with the school.
