I like to hang around at the Lambda the Ultimate programming languages
weblog, which is frequented by comp-sci professors and graduate
students - people who talk knowledgeably (or at least knowingly - I'm
not knowledgeable enough to be able to tell the difference reliably)
about things like category theory and the Curry-Howard isomorphism. I
am hopelessly outclassed, but participate anyway in the hope of
learning something.
Why be bothered about other people's intellectual clout? The only
really important thing is not to be so dumb that one doesn't recognise
it in the first place:

Of course, I only *think* I don't fall into this category - if I did,
I presumably wouldn't know.
