No argument from me, Mark. There are always trade-offs. But hats off to
all those things that come close to being too much--and even some of those
that get there: e.g., some Mahler, some Berlioz, much Morton Feldman,
much Cage, etc. etc. etc. Hats off as well to those that come close to being
too little: e.g., some Schoenberg, Webern, pieces; haiku; minimalists and
miniaturists of all sorts, etc. etc. etc. And I won't say a word about all those
things that seem to be too close to average.
