I bet they had much more local origins myself (household gods, wights of
place and animals.....)
but Rebecca and Stephen just to say that I really enjoyed your posts.....
your reflection on where the trance states (you call them liminal states,
which I like....) might lead and the challenges - and the nausea - that they
entail. Not disruption simply for the sake of chaos..... more like
repatterning or remaking....
The crucial point being the twist such travelling might create in
'reality'/language. Burning perception in the crucible or setting it on the
blacksmith's anvil to be reforged. Transformation.
I would like to bring more of all this into my writing, though it is a bit
of a challenge to see how to do it without just mimicing 'tribal' models or
going all 'new agey'
:) I expect I sound pretty silly to lots of people anyway so I prob shouldnt
worry about that! It will prob just happen.
