I used to find the arrangement of the strings well suited to my
left-handedness as a child (though I never became terribly good at either
fiddle or 'cello) and wondered why the things weren't designed for
right-handers. One aspect of being left-handed is having to negotiate a
world designed by right-handers for right-handers, which perhaps sharpens
some of our creative faculties.
