A CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS
MAINSTREAMING SEX:THE SEXUALIZATION OF CULTURE

This proposed new collection aims to make an important contributution to
debates about sexual values, practices, representations and identities in
contemporary culture. Particular areas of interest include the new politics
of pornography; sex performances and spaces; sex advice, sex tips and sexual
self-help; sex education; postmodernism, postfeminism and sex; sex
consumerism; sex and communication technologies; sex in mainstream and
alternative media; contemporary sexual identities; sexual community and
sexual citizenship.
There are a good number of proposed contributions already. However, I am
still looking for contributions in the following areas:
sex performance/space/consumerism (eg, lapdancing/poledancing; sex shops,
clubs and parties; design and marketing of sex toys etc)
sex and communication technologies (eg, phone sex; texting; email affairs;
cybersex/chat rooms/messenger systems; webcams etc)
sexual identity, community and citizenship in the context of sexualization
audiences/consumers of sexualized media/culture
