Call for Papers
The Media Production Analyses Working Group of the
International Association for Media and Communication Research Cairo, Egypt,
July 24-28, 2006
The Working Group for Media Production Analyses invites submissions for the
bi-annual international conference of the IAMCR. The working group focuses
on the process of media production across different technologies,
organizational contexts and genres. Papers might offer new research in
production settings; comparisons between technologies, contexts and genres;
or exploration of methodological aspects including production ethnography,
the problems and strategies of access, and the theoretical grounding of
methods. We are especially eager to include studies of convergence and the
challenges 'new media' pose for the field of production studies. Studies
addressing changes in production practice resulting from globalization,
decreasing public media, and conglomerate economics are all welcome.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts (500 words) is January 15,
2006. You will be informed whether or not your abstract is accepted by
March 1, 2006. The deadline for full papers is June 15, 2006.
