specialist markets and have over 20 years experience within their key
sectors
·Over the last 18 months they have continually developed their GIS offering
and capabilities
·You will join an established GIS function at this critical and exciting
time
·In this rare you will be a key player in driving forward their GIS
programme both internally and externally
Duties and responsibilities:
·Undertake specialist GIS work and provide support for GIS projects.
·GIS Development
·Promote the company’s GIS capabilities to external customers and within
the group
·Liase with staff at all levels to identify and develop potential new GIS
applications as well as maintaining existing ones
·Perform presentations and demonstrations to clients on the company’s GIS
services
Training:
·Provide / arrange appropriate GIS software training to staff as and when
required
·Produce Documented office procedures for GIS projects
·Provide in-house training on GIS principles and software packages
Technical:
·Maintain awareness of the GIS market and advise on any new technologies
and developments.
·Assist in the development of company policies and procedures relating to
new GIS methods and working practices.
·Perform testing and documentation for GIS software packages
Ideal skills requirements:
·18 months+ industry experience
·Good knowledge of GIS
·Ideally ArcGIS 8/9
·Use of Microsoft Access for data manipulation
·Working knowledge of Visual Basic 6 and .Net
·Appreciation of IIS, Tomcat, Java, asp, php would be advantageous
