Location - Maidstone, Kent
Duration - Short term contract up to 9 months.
Rate - £13-14,000 a year plus all public holidays and vacation.
Maidstone Borough Council is in the process of expanding our GIS system
across the Council. We are looking for either degree holders or students
who have studied GIS/Geography or any related Degrees. Experience is not
required as this is seen as an entry level position into the field. The
roll will involve data entry, data evaluation, mobile monitoring, and
auditing of the Council's assets. The introduction of hand held GIS/GPS
systems to the Council's field staff and contractors may also be a major
part of this roll. The mobile devices will be used to capture data about
grounds maintenance, street sweeping, street cleaning and refuse/recycling
collections etc. We are looking for a GIS operatives to join our existing
team of 3 GIS operatives for up to a year. The roll is full time and a
vehicle will be provided for any field work. A driver’s licence is
required. The Council's GIS system is MapInfo. We are looking to have the
additional person in post around the middle to the end of May 2005.
