The Department of Psychology has a tenure-track position in cognitive
neuroscience. We are looking for an individual that meshes well with the
current strengths of the department (e.g., attention, language, memory,
psychopathology, reading, developmental cognitive neuroscience,
neurodevelopmental disorders, drug abuse and addiction). Preference will be
given to candidates who use functional MRI as a major tool of their work and
who can become a primary user of our new fMRI facility (3.0T human MRI; 7.0T
animal MRI). The department has an emphasis in neuroscience and endowed
chairs in behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and medical
imaging. Successful applicants will have demonstrated the ability to conduct
independent research and must show the potential to acquire external grant
funding. Review of applications will begin November 30, 2005 and continue
until the position is filled.
We have two tenured and endowed faculty positions in human brain imaging.
Applicants for the USC Endowed Chair in Cognitive Neuroimaging should be
scholars with training in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a
combination, and have substantial experience using functional brain imaging
to address questions concerning the brain basis of cognition and behavior. A
history of substantial grant funding, and experience leading a large and
successful research team are also needed. Applicants for the USC Endowed
Chair in Medical/Imaging Physics should be scholars with training in
biomedical physics, with extensive experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
They need to have substantial expertise in applying appropriate advanced
pulse sequences for a variety of MR modalities including perfusion,
diffusion, and various structural approaches.
