that's a very strange error message, because it show's you that there is an error in line 53 in spm_contrast.
Has someone edited that script? Line 53 should be
spm('Pointer', 'Watch')
i.e. with a ' in front of the Watch.
So, this means, there is nothing wrong with your procedure, but there is something wrong with the SPM version, you are using.
