The Laboratory of NeuroImaging would like to take this opportunity to
provide some information about the LONI Pipeline Execution Environment.
It seems to us that many of the comments pertain to the v1 of our software.
Other comments were incorrect. For example, the application is not just a
front end to a vector processor at SDSC.
We recently released a version (v3) that addresses many of the issues
identified by users of v1. Some of the new features include
- Standalone application, or client/server interaction
- Zero installation client, minimal installation server
- Sun Grid Engine integration
- Mobile user support (start a job, disconnect, reconnect to see job progress)
- Improved client usability
- Modular, extensible architecture (viewer integration in < 200 lines of
Java code)
- Collaborative documentation (via our Wiki)
We have many collaborators making use of the Pipeline, including
NAMIC (http://na-mic.org)
BIRN (http://www.nbirn.net)
SCI (http://www.sci.utah.edu)
