While looking for details of this year's Reith Lectures, Lord Broers is
giving them, I was surprised to find that the PEST debate seems to go back
as far as 1953, when no less than Robert Oppenheimer talked about "Science
and The Common Understanding".
Unfortunately, these talks are not among the small band of past lectures
that you can listen to again.
