aha, I didn't think the quote marks would let me get away with such a woolly term
I mean that while I understand the need to package science up so that it's suitable for certain audiences with different scientific literacy, interests, ages etc, I feel there must be a way to work science into FHM/ladies' glossies without having to hang it on the hook of 'why this car goes so fast' or 'why this face cream will really stop you getting wrinkles'. While this approach can be useful, I feel it's almost lazy not to try more imaginative ways to get science into 'non-science' magazines.
Having said all that, I know how hard it can be to get certain subjects into certain publications, and I don't have to many ideas how to do it just yet....
